Become a PVH Volunteer

Evelyn Stinson
A volunteer for more than 21 years!
PVH volunteers are people of all ages who donate their time and skills to our community hospital. They lend a hand where they can and engage in such activities as fundraisers, blood drives, health fairs, and greeting patients at the hospital.

Like many hospitals, PVH relies heavily on these generous individuals who offer their talents to benefit the hospital community. Volunteering is rewarding for everyone involved, and you can make a huge difference in the lives of our patients.

PVH has two groups of people who donate their time:

1) Volunteers: these are the people 15 and over who donate their time on hospital grounds or at hospital-sponsored events. All volunteers must fill out an application form and sign wavers allowing people to photograph them and promising to keep patient confidentiality. To become a regular hospital volunteer, an interview is required. Please call Allison Bankston at (207) 794-7124 or email her at abankston@pvhme.org.

2) PVH Auxiliary: our auxiliary is made up of men and women who work as a team to volunteer for hospital-related events, greet patients and their families, and supply certain items to patients as needed. One of their biggest focuses is “baby bags”—a goody bag that each new mother receives with helpful items for her and the new baby. For more information on becoming a member of the PVH Auxiliary, contact President Judy McComb at jdmccomb@localnet.com.

Auxiliary Scholarships

The PVH Auxiliary is offering scholarships to non-traditional students pursuing healthcare-related careers. You must have graduated at least one year ago, and the award will be sent directly to your college or university upon receipt of your fall semester grades, which serves as verification that you are still enrolled. You must be carrying at least 12 credit hours.
